Recognizing What’s In Front Of You

I was having lunch with a friend outside and realized what a gorgeous place Washington, D.C. really is.

It seems like when I live in an area, it’s not until I’m ready to leave that I really start to appreciate the beauty of it. Especially living in D.C.,  just going out and having lunch at the base of our nations capital became a thing to take for granted.

But traveling around, bouncing from spot to spot, I will have a set amount of time to find what is special about an area. No time to squander, only time to appreciate.

I’m hoping this is something that carries over into my life. To never take a spot for granted and continue to discover new beauties and adventures every day from the place you live is a beautiful thing.
